Making a Joyful Noise for the Last Five Years!

This month, we celebrate the fifth anniversary of Robert Gammon's ministry at Broadway. When the search committee was given the job description by the deacons and surveyed the congregation, it was clear that expectations were very high. In unanimously recommending    Robert, we believed that we had found the person who could meet those expectations - and he exceeds them!

Robert brings us the highest standards in music and worship, while also serving as a compassionate caregiver to members of our congregation. He is committed to the best in sacred music, and has the leadership, teaching, and organizational skills to prepare worship that is both reverent and creative. He inspires both amateur and professional musicians to bring their very best gifts. His work with the youth choir and the Jubilate tours have become a highlight of our ministry to young people. If you have ever watched "Mr. Robert" preparing our children to be worship leaders, or looked in on Creative Arts Camp, then you understand why they love him too!

Behind the scenes, you will find Robert managing a budget to maintain all instruments, materials, and equipment related to music and worship, including the purchase of music and cleaning of choir robes. He collaborates with the staff to plan, execute, and evaluate weekly worship, weddings, funerals, and to create special services throughout the church calendar. He trains and supervises both paid music staff and volunteer music leaders. He enlists the  help of the decorating committee for special Advent and Lenten services. Sometimes, he even moves furniture!

Robert is a minister in the fullest sense of the word. He is the staff liaison to the Congregational Care group of the deacons. He celebrates good news with us, and he brings sensitivity and empathy to those who are suffering, whether they are in the hospital, or planning the funeral of a loved one.

Robert, we are so grateful for your first five years with us and look forward to many more!
