A Message from our Interim Pastor

The interim period in the life of a church is particularly challenging because the assumption is usually that it is a time of simply waiting for the arrival of a new pastor. Instead, it is meant to be a time of reflection and preparation. Reflection involves taking stock of where we are and deciding what we need to do to be who and where we want to be.

Our self-studies are workshops that apply positive principles to all of our relationships in life and provide concrete steps for making our personal lives and our congregational life healthier. The workshop on Sunday, September 17, will give you a basic tool for dealing with the ever changing demands of all our relationships “The Role Renegotiation Model.” The workshop on September 24, “Handling Conflict With Maturity,” outlines steps that can be taken in order to deal creatively and redemptively with the one inevitable that surfaces in all of our relationships.

I am asking you to make the sacrifice of setting aside a brief period after worship (October 8, 15, 22, 29; and November 12, 19, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.) to participate in these times of learning and dialoguing together.
